‘In filling the well, think magic. Think delight. Think fun. Do not think duty. Do not do what you should do—spiritual sit-ups like reading a dull but recommended critical text. Do what intrigues you, explore what interests you; think mystery, not mastery.’
Julia Cameron, The Artist’s Way
A Chairde, Friends,
How is your entry to 2025 going? It’s very frosty here in Dublin at the moment, and that’s how I feel, not frosty mind you, but like the land underneath, still deep in slumber. Here’s a photo I took yesterday morning on the beach where I live. I was there with my dear friend Eimear, doing some card pulls for January, and we got to witness this glorious winged sunrise over frozen sands.
Think Magic and Mystery
As we begin 2025 together, I would love for The Celtic Creatives to be a space where, as Julia Cameron says, you can fill your well with magic and mystery, and sure in my experience, that’s what leads us deeper into inner mastery.
Below I ask two questions that I would love your feedback on for the membership this year. I also share dates for January and a reminder of December’s resources in case you missed anything in the seasonal bustle.
If you do have space this month, and given that January is our final bow to the Cailleach in her season of Samhain, I would encourage you to revisit the three Full Moon Fairytale CéilÃs, one of which is devoted to the Cailleach. Every single time we meet a myth, folk or fairytale and move with it in our bodies, some new acorn of wisdom sings. Repetition is never wasted.
ê©œTwo Questions
The concept of the Full Moon Fairytale Céilà began as a three-month trial over Samhain. Personally, I would love to continue weaving these enchanted gatherings into Imbolc, as we enter Brigid’s time of February, what do you feel?
Each month we have our Co-Working with the Creative Otherworld sessions, which I know some of you love and relish in the space to create. However, I also sense we need more space to brew in the content I share here, to be cooked by the mystery of our ancestors for these times.
I have this idea of transforming the co-working session into a space where we can come together, share what’s coming up for us in response to the content - reflections, insights, synchronicities, questions, and also for you to share any creations you are working on in response like a poem, a book, a dance, a painting, a piece of jewellery, a meditation, whatever it might be.
I propose calling this The Selkie Studio as the selkie is symbolic of reclaiming lost parts of ourselves, and for me, that’s what this work is all about.
I’ll go with the majority result for each of these questions, and implement the changes as Imbolc springs in February. Please respond by Wednesday, 15th January to give me time to plan. Thanks a million!
