I was truly inspired by the response to last month’s Sheela na Gig Vision Quest and so, today I share a creative ritual for you that may support your vision, especially if it relates to your creative expression.
As you probably know from me by now, I believe that each one of us is born with a dán, a soul’s gift, a destiny, a calling—a unique message for our world that only we can share through our voice and expression. If I try to express the way you do, it won’t resonate with whoever receives the message because it hasn’t come from you. Our dáns are like personal rivers; if I climb into yours, the water will become stagnant and vice versa if you climb into mine. Our rivers can only flow with the energy of our own soul’s gift.
As part of your dán, your voice has its own ‘spirit’ or creative intelligence that you can co-create with. Embodying this soulful essence requires nurturing, tending to, and co-creation. Not only must you trust your voice, but it must also trust you. This creative practice is about developing and nurturing this relationship. It was originally designed for women to activate the power of our voices, so you will hear ‘Sister’ in the opening of the audio, but anyone can benefit from this journey.
This is a powerful practice to connect with your voice’s spirit before sharing your dán—whether through live speaking, podcasting, teaching, writing or any form of expression.
