Such a lovely first Imbas dispatch, Jen (and so good to find you on Substack)! Fedelm's story really resonated at this time, as well as the beautiful Irish phrase at the end. Thank you for sharing your wisdom here.

Thanks a million Isabel I will definitely mix up writing with audio too. I am creating a new audio practice for next week's Celtic Creatives Toolkit, which will hopefully feel like a magical support for your creativity :-)

Yes! I didn’t want to be greedy, lol, but I too love Jen’s beautiful and compelling storytelling cadence. I listened to last Beltaine’s Nine White Deer dozens of times to transport me… “being told a story” is such a treat and portal. ♥️

Ah I love this Maureen lol! & I'm so deeply moved to hear that Nine White Deer resonated with you, I feel like Gobnait is wanting her revival for these times, which is magic. This feedback is so helpful thanks a million! I'd love to hear how you get on with the Enchanted Dwelling practice when the time comes. 💚

Oh Jen. This is hitting in all tender places of my heart. Thank you so much for your words, wisdom, and wonder. I am particularly struck by the words of Kerri ni Dochartaigh around offering tenderness with the same magnitude in which we are witnessing brutality and death. It reminds me that committing daily to moving within my little sphere of influence with presence and compassion has a ripple effect. My personal "why" for sobriety is rooted in global connection.

I also loved reading about the poet-seers and the journey to the Otherworld. As a INFJ, I love to hang out in the realms of my "mind castle" in contemplation but I also need to be mindful that it can be a source of escape. I often ask my guides and ancestors to build a bridge from contemplation to action.

Can't wait to explore more on this journey in community! xo, Anne Marie

Oh I love this Anne Marie, how your personal "why" for sobriety is rooted in global connection- bringing the microcosm to the macrocosm and always remembering how all things are interconnected weaving in and out of the anima mundi, the soul of the world. And this 'bridge from contemplation to action' - wow! It could be healing to bring this image into material form in some way, even a journal doodle, it's so powerful. And as a fellow INFJ, sometimes inviting a dabble at a time of the inferior function of extroverted sensation into the mix can enable the action. So much richness here, míle buíochas a stór x

“For all I saw was blood. I told Medb not to fight, you can’t win as a woman when a patriarch is writing your story.”

Oh Jen…. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Blessed be Fedelm, Brigid, Medb, Lugh, Mannanan mac Lir, all!

May Feldem’s clear vision continue to spark the inner flames, her voice so delicately and purposefully shared through yours dear Jen, and may those of us called to story and action scry the truths so they can be shared by all the thirsting matriarchs.

I am so here for this and for you! And for all the dear dear ancestors 💚💚💚

Wow Heather what poetry you share here... "may those of us called to story and action scry the truths so they can be shared by all the thirsting matriarchs"... that's a story or poem in itself! Just beautiful. And go raibh míle maith agat for your gorgeous words of encouragement you truly are the Fairy Goddessmother 😘

Oh, this resonates so deeply: "you have to learn to see with an otherworldly eye what can be brought into form in partnership with the spirit of creation itself, with nature." . I've had moments of late where this Otherworldly eye of mine aligns in my day-to-day and it startles me; so, I am incredibly grateful for the share in the Mother Tongue Words. Their gentleness is soothly (especially for my sometime wound up nervous system) and deeply rooting. Míle buíochas Jen

Oh I love this Erica - how your Otherworldly eye aligns in your day-to-day and startles you. It's like startling magic when that which is unseen is mirrored in the seen. Thank you for your incredibly kind words about the Gaeilge, I find mother tongue soothes my system too. X

This resonated with me too. I wrote at the top of my planner for the month, “apprentice to creativity itself.”
