A Chairde, Friends,

Are you ready to be cloaked in your own magic?

To get clarity on what gifts your cloak, your energetic field vibrates with?

To understand the ways in which this cloak can help you feel more authentic?

This month’s guided audio journey is designed to help you attune to the unique magic of your energetic cloak, and to shine forth with this inherent magnetism.

The practice is only 10-minutes long so it can be used daily or whenever you need to feel more magnetic. I did the practice myself before I was facilitating a workshop for Brigid and Imbolc festivities in a public library on Friday. I felt grounded, luminous, and unapologetically ready to shine as myself.

I’m lit up to learn what this reveals for you so let’s begin…

The Mantle

In Old Irish, the word bratt or brat means ‘cloak, mantle, covering, a cloth’. The mantle represents an energetic extension of the wearer. For example, Airmid, the Divine Herbalist of the Tuatha Dé Danann, holds all of the secrets of our native plants in her cloak to protect her father from concealing this wisdom. Her cloak, her energetic field, contains all of the wisdom needed for healing.

A few days ago, I shared the Imbolc ritual of the Brat Bhríde, ‘Brigid’s Cloak’, where you leave a small piece of cloth or ribbon on your windowsill, beside your door, or in your garden for Brigid to bless as she travels by with her white cow with red ears. It is believed that this ritual will ward off illness for human and our more-than-human kin in the year ahead by creating a healing strip to be used when needed. The cloth serves as an extension of Brigid’s energetic field.

‘Under a cloak of invisibility, at the behest of a god, in the alchemist’s laboratory, at night under the influence of “unsettling dreams” or wrapped up in a cocoon, the radical changes wrought by metamorphosis come about through intense incubation and release of libido.’

Cloaks are symbols of shapeshifting, transformation and metamorphosis. They release libido in the sense of new lifeforce, of the greening power of viriditas, especially in this time of Imbolc. That’s why the cloak reflects the energy of the wearer.
